What tournament types does Gamerz Reef offer?

Gamerz Reef offers single-elimination brackets, double-elimination brackets, team brackets, ELO leaderboards, and Wins leaderboards.

What is a bracket tournament?

Bracket tournaments are elimination tournaments in which you need to win the match to advance to the next round. On Gamerz Reef there are single-elimination bracket tournaments and double-elimination bracket tournaments.

What is the difference between a single-elimination bracket tournament and a double-elimination bracket tournament?

In a single-elimination bracket tournament you are eliminated after losing once, while in a double-elimination bracket tournament you are eliminated after losing twice.

What happens if an opponent doesn't show up in a bracket tournament?

If your opponent does not show up for a bracket tournament, you win that match.

What are team bracket tournaments?

A team bracket tournament enables multiplayer gameplay. Only the team leader of each team is required to have a Gamerz Reef account. When joining a team bracket tournament, the team leader will need to enter the platform IDs of the other team members. The team leader will also need to check in, and report match results. Team brackets can be either single-elimination or double-elimination.

What is a leaderboard?

Gamerz Reef uses leaderboards to allow our players to know where they rank within a specific game community. In order to count towards a leaderboard, you must first join the leaderboard for your matches to be recognized.

How do I join a leaderboard?

What happens if my opponent and I end a game in a tie/draw?

If you have a tied game, please replay your game with your opponent.

How do I get my winnings?

All results and final placements for tournaments, including single-elimination and double-elimination brackets and team brackets and leaderboards, are reviewed and verified by the Community Manager.

A cash prize payout is processed within 5-10 business days of the tournament's completion time and is paid to the player’s PayPal account.

A  points prize is processed within 5-10 business days of the tournament's completion time and is awarded to the member's points balance.

What if my opponent disconnects?

There are various outcomes for disconnected matches.

  • A "loser disconnect" happens when a player disconnects from a match while losing, resulting in an automatic loss.
  • A "winner disconnect" happens when a player disconnects from a match while winning, resulting in a replay from the point of disconnect.
  • A "tied match disconnect" happens when a player disconnects while the match is tied, resulting in the match being placed into arbitration, and our Community Manager team will determine the outcome.

How do you play from the point of disconnect?

In order to replay your match from the point of disconnect, you must first score any goals/points from your original disconnected game. We suggest that you score your own goals/points where possible to complete this process quickly. Please note that you do not have to replicate the exact score of your original match; the difference in scores is acceptable. Once you have scored the necessary points you will have to let the clock run down to the point of disconnect, and then start your game from that point on.
